Prairie View Residential Care Facility (RCF) provides supportive and skill building services to adults with functional limitations caused by chronic mental illness, intellectual disability, or medical conditions. Services include 24 hour staffing, medication management, on site visits by medical doctor and psychiatrist, transportation to local medical appointments, activities and leisure skill planning and skill building services.
The skill building services are provided under the supervision of licensed social work and mental health staff. Topics include coping skills, healthy relationships, & anger management.
Prairie View RCF offers other specialized programs. Staff are trained as facilitators of STEPPSTM programming. STEPPSTM (Systematic Training in Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving) was developed by Nancee Blum, LISW, of the University of Iowa. Thus structured model of therapy has proven effective in helping persons with Borderline Personality Disorder manage their intense emotions more effectively.
Co-occurring Disorders Service is yet another program available to clients of Prairie View RCF.
